The students Union Election 2017-18 was held on 22/08/2017 in the college. More than 70% students caste their valuable vote showing their democratic responsibilities to form an active Union Body in order to work for the College.

Nazira College remembered its cultural icon and freedom fighter Jyoti Prasad Agarwala on Shilpi Divas, observed on 17th January to mark his death anniversary. Agarwala was the pioneer of filmmaking in the state and made the first Assamese film Joymoti in 1930.
